Breaking News that will take you for a ride...

...sorry, couldn't help with the corny headline -.-'. As so of you have already heard, Marvel Vs Capcom 2 HD (not Remix-ed, because I am pretty sure that MvC2 honestly doesn't need to be Remix-ed like the decades old Street Fighter 2 did) is confirmed for a summer release and that there would be a demo exclusive to the PSN (that's right, sorry xbox 360 owners, no demo for you. Well at least that's what Capcom says) Would be released today.

Well this isn't an anouncement of that, it is the anouncment that it is up right now, and currently I have 9 more minutes until I get to see the awesomeness they pulled off for this re-release. PErhaps another update real soon in that case. If we have MvC2 HD for download, which Capcom kept saying would be diffcult but not impossible, much like they said with MvC3, is it possible MvC3 is actually in the works and will be anounced soon? I mean they have been quoted saying, MvC3 isn't impossible, but an HD re-release of MvC2 would be more likely to happen before then. Well guess what, it has happened, so high hopes on the scale of possiblity.

But I have come to know that Capcom is much more complex than other game companies with half their renown when it comes to letting people in on their secrets, decidingly to not only withholding undislclosed (which is not in the merriam-webster online dictinoary. Something about an Unabridged version. I have to pay for the online dictionary too now? WTF?) information, but also throwing out statements and knock out rumors that will divert our attention. I mean we all knew that MvC2 would happen, all the e vidence was right in front of our faces, but the way Capcom handled it, their wasn't huge huge talk, instead they let the media eat up the fact they made you pay for RE5 DLC.

Anywho, that's all for right now, until then gamers, keep playing!

Holy Collector's Edition, Batman...

...that's right, update on what actually is contained in the amazing CE of Arkham Asylum has (kind of) been released.

So here's what's inside, a WayneTech Batarang storage box, a Batarang with stand attached (I don't care, still throwing it xP), Dr Young's Journal (pretty much a specialized 50 page [I think] character encyclopedia) and your first batch of DLC, s well as the obligatory making of (but this is a making of with the voices of Joker and Batman *squeal*)

I also do have a couple of smaller updates, mainly from the ESRB website. Rocketmen: Axis of Evil is getting a sequel, aptly named it Came from Uranus, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is still labeled for PS3 and Xbox 360, however it is interesting to note that Marvel vs. Capcom is not (making me wondering if they are actually doning a complete re-vamp or what's going on) and that the ESRB has some in depth description when it comes to sexual content (i.e. actually describing specific situations and innuendos in the upcoming RPG, Cross Edge) yet when it comes to violence, not so much (i.e. Resident Evil 5, "when an enemy is shot red blood spray is depicted and limbs can regenerate") once again proving how each market has censorship emphasis on specifics, as I will present in a list below:

North America - Sexual Themes, Nudity, Suggestive Themes
Europe - Violence, Blood, Gore
Australia - Drug References, Alcholol Use
Japan - Particulars (they censor weird, too weird to say they have emphasis on general things)

Anyway that was the brief observations of this blogger and a short update that I thought I would share with the class. Well, until next time, keep playing!

Reviews and updates....

...which means this will be a huge huge posting. I have updates on BioShock 2 via GameInformer article and SomethingInTheSea.com, a bunch of reviews on some demos of XBLA and Community Games, as well as the demo on Wheelman and Ninja Blade.

First up I should give you the reviews. I'll break this down even further as well, as not to be too confusing in this massive posting.

Community games are games that are games that are entirely gamer content, meaning they aren't games that go through the extensive approval process as arcade games go through. It is done with peer reviews, and can be put on Live for purchase withing 48 hours, unlike an Arcade game. Any who, with that being said, some are nervous about how Community games turned out. I can tell you with games like the ones I demoed there is nothing to be nervous about. To honor the peer reviewing of Community Games, I will give a quick list rundown giving description (of course in my own words) and it's overall score. Are you ready? Let's do this!

Neon Paddles- A much more brightly colored and slightly more complex version of the original Pong, with several various modes, walls that close in, and different paddle patterns. 7/10 Mainly because, though more complex than it's progenitor, it is still simplistic and can become quite boring.

Mania- You control a cube that has a different shape on each of it's faces and can change color. With this ability, you must match up the right shape and color to the shapes that come at you from the all sides to rack up points, or be penalized for getting it wrong. 8/10 Actually challenging enough to keep any puzzle game player occupied for hours on end.

ZenHak- a point and click RPG. 1/10 I can't describe it enough because I didn't get past the control scheme. Plus, I didn't see any intrigue to make me want to get past figuring out the control scheme.

SLAM- A rotary version of Arkanoid complete with power-ups, explosive boxes, and invincible boxes, all setup around the new playing field. 10/10 Perfect. It is addictive, simplistic yet at the same time challenging, it's Arkanoid except in a huge circle!

There you have it, that folks is how you do a lightning round review.

Now, onto the XBLA games, which in some cases should be better, right? Well I suppose we should see. The three games I demoed were Death Tank, Peggle, and Interpol. Three different games geared towards three different types of gamers. Which one breaks the mold though?

In Death Tank you have the menu being shadowed by an ominous skull nebula (read: star cloud) and so you don't really know what to expect but there will be tanks. And that is what you get, Tanks. I mean I give it props for updated graphics, but it is quite literally Tanks, nothing added to it but online play, honestly. Oh and tank variety. Honestly at the moment I can only think of one game that was in the same vein and was a blaze of glory, and that would be a little series by the name of Worms. So for a final score I give it 3/10, because while the super hardcore tanks and geometry fans will love this game, no one else will appreciate the same stale and worn out recipe.

However, Interpol on the other hand makes it risk in another way, by instead of using the same tired game and giving it new makeup, it takes an untapped genre, the I Spy puzzle game. Similar games to this that comes to mind is the ever popular Mystery Case Files: Millionheir. It has you play the role as an Interpol agent, and opting out for the action and shooting, rather it has you doing investigative work by searching for certain items to give you clues to help you apprehend your suspects. I would have to give this game a 7/10 because it is a relatively new genre that seems to be catching like wildfire yet with good reason, however at the same time it does get frustrating when you can't find certain items because of placement or specifics.

And that takes us to the cream of the crop of the XBLA games I demoed, Peggle. A casual game initially made for casual gamers. I mean that's what Popcap does, whilst at the same time irritating hardcore gamers for flooding the market with these stupid things. Yet, Peggle is different. With it's mix of Pachinko and Bubble Bobble game play, it's bright lights and shiny graphics, and it's cartoon humor, it has all the bells and whistles, literally, to reel in casual gamers and put them in a Peggle-induced trance, with still enough oomph to make hardcore gamers bite while reeling them in with it's various modes and eccentric game mechanics until everyone is crowded around the game trying to find a way to shoot that last ball just right to maximize their points. 10/10 'Nuff said.

Now for real demos, I had a chance over the weekend, with all the demoing of those games, to play Wheelman and Ninja Blade.

Wheelman, Vin Diesel's lesser talked about game, was actually quite fun. It was a mix of Grand Theft Auto, Burnout, Need For Speed. I mean you got the feel of Burnout with the way you used your vehicle as your weapon to do, well, pretty much anything on the streets, Grand Theft Auto because of it's game play once you are on foot and how you can shoot other cars with special maneuvers while in your car, and the feel of Need For Speed because of how they deal with police chases and rival gangs. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they integrated so many different game elements to produce an actually decent game where you play a Wheelman. I'm sorry, the Driver series just didn't do it for me.

Ninja Blade on the other hand, tried to do the same thing with not the same effect. They took the quick reaction commands from Resident Evil, the Ninja fighting from Ninja Gaiden, and the dynamic camera from Devil May Cry, for a less than awesome game. Perhaps they still have more work to do, which I hope they possibly maybe even push back the date to work on, because it just didn't work. The reactionary commands seemed out of place when they would occur, the fighting seemed like every other hack and slash of three button combos, an the camera, though and improvement to Ninja Gaiden, just wasn't suitable for this game.

Now that we have all the demo reviews out of the way, time for the huge update on BioShock 2. Nothing really on the website new, but two pictures, meaning the Big Sister has been caught on film! Oh and as well as two notes that describe the two main characters. Pretty much alluding to the fact that the Big Sister doesn't like stalkers and that the Little Sisters are still normal girls that had a normal life, possibly wanting rescue.

However, I suppose there wasn't a huge update on the website due to the release of the current GameInformer with the main article being on BioShock 2. The full-on reveal left almost no stone unturned. From reading the article it is confirmed that you return to Rapture, you play as the first prototype Big Daddy and are still attempting to save the Little Sisters, who were initially kidnapped by the Big Sister to restore Rapture to what it once was. It is also confirmed you will have not only the super strength as a Big Daddy with it's drill and special heavy weapons, but you will also have new and returning plasmids at your disposal with much more proficiency than Jack ever could dream, for instance through upgrading Incineration you can have a flamethrower hand instead of just simple snap burns.

What else was there? Oh yes, you still have to go through the same moral choices, however instead of damning you for eternity for choosing the wrong choice, it will let you know when you are leading yourself down a certain path and at some points over you trade offs to put you on the track you wish to be on. Also you get control of both your weapon arm as well as your plasmid arm, unlike the first game where you had to control one or the other, not both. With that even more possibilities open up. Oh and most importantly, the Big Sister is now the Big Bad One in the sequel, replacing Andrew Ryan and Fontaine as ones to watch out for. She chases you once she feels you have disrupted the balance of power in Rapture.

With being a Big Daddy, as those of the first ones know, comes the need for a Little Sister for survival. However you being a renegade Big Daddy, you do not have this orphan to look after and provide you with ADAM, so you must fight your brethren to obtain their coveted ward. Once again you are given the choice to rip the slugs out of their frail bodies or, this time around, adopt them as your own and become their guardian as they become your caretaker. So Big Daddies are still around, and you can either choose to harvest the Little Sisters or, once you adopted one, save the Little Sisters by helping them escape Rapture once more. This is an act that will incur the wrath of the Big Sister which is what initiates the chase.

So, they're you have it, I don't expect any big huge updates coming soon, except what possibly they meant when they said they're would be multi-player or what the new plasmids are, or some other smaller detail. So until then, keep playing!

We interrupt your regular blogcast to bring to you...

...this disturbing news that I have obtained from my friend, fellow gamer Rob "Robzilla" Coster. According to this link he found, http://totallylookslike.com/2009/03/04/avons-derma-full-totally-looks-like-the-t-virus/ . Yeah, Avon has a great product on his hands, Avon Derma Full, an Anti-Aging serum that makes all of those pricey injections unnecessary. Sound familiar? Granted that the movie was horrible, I want you to watch these two videos for a comparison, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvWoL9-SQi0, and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvR3r2yW6Fk. The first one is for the Umbrella Corporation product, Regenerate (yeah I know complete with creepy ending of the zombie thing), the second being Avon Derma Full ad. Very similar with anti-aging promises, white background, and of course the ominous closing lines.

I know so many have been making these comparisons, but I have done research on this Avon product. http://www.avon.com/1/1/5872-anew-clinical-derma-full-x3-facial-filling-serum.html there's the product page from Avon, stating how the product is made from Hyaluronic Acid and even a brief FAQ on how it is safe to use and everything. You can easily fool some people, but I decided to look into the Hyaluronic Acid ingredient. Here's what I found http://www.ctds.info/hyaluronic_acid.html#overview if you notice, scrunched up at the end there, high levels have been known to cause cancer. Now, knowing that, how much is high levels? The Avon product has 3x the levels of injections.

I'm not trying to sound like a conspirator or anything, but I think you guys have the idea. All I have to say is what gamers already know, ready your arms and be prepared for a sudden outbreak of infected. Until that happens though, keep playing (of course to get practice in when the real zombie outbreak happens)

More information amongst lies...

...about the big investigation behind BioShock 2. Such as how there will be only one Big Sister, no Big Daddies, and apparently Rapture is flooded. Not to worry, one of 2K's forum representatives squashed that most of these rumors are untrue, as well as Game Informer magazine. Not to say that these the rumors are all untrue, they just said don't believe what someone says on the Internet, especially with Game Informer saying wrong about a "big" point.

Well based on that, I think it's safe to say they're will either be more than one Big Sister, the Big Daddies are still in, or both (hoping for both).

However, like I said, there is more information on my further prying on real hardcore evidence of BioShock 2. So far, no collector's edition SKUs on any retail site for pre-order (oh but everyone knows they're mostly likely will be) but you can pre-order it for the PS3 PC and Xbox 360 on GameStop. Once a gain, though, 2 K games is still announcing the platforms thus far as TBA. I know, not exactly good information, but it's information nonetheless.

I do have good information though, information that also helps support my theory (see I say theory because just like those people that started rumors, I honestly don't have any idea. Just my own opinions based off of facts I have rounded up.) SomethingInTheSea.com is updated once again, which is almost less than a day since they had their last update. I think it seems that we are getting closer to full reveals here, based on the ramping up of the update. (yea, I know about the GameInformer article, but I mean like full blown stuff) Any who, the update was a full report from the Office of Naval Intelligence about the sightings, which is in at least 8 different countries and 6 different languages, and also shows a chronology of the US sightings, as well as in the margin to the cover sheet of the report stating they are ruling out "enemy subs". Among that update is also a hand written letter from the President of NUFOS, despite it being unrelated to UFOs (as stated in the margin) but the letter does present that his daughter was also kidnapped, relating it to the kidnappings.

So like I said, this information does support more of my theory. Simply because of this, it seems that the US Intelligence is now getting involved, and if they get involved I am certain they will find out what it is and possibly have to end up fighting it, presenting once again possibility of dry land game play. Looking at the map, supports my part of the theory that it will possibly be going back to the X without a date seeing  as the motion is very circular with the incidents marked down with dates.

Also with mention of Andrew Ryan, and text before that being [REDACTED] (it's blacked out, and I thought it said something, but upon closer look you get the aforementioned [REDACTED] thing. FYI redacted means to remove writing. So  yea, not much there) it's obvious they knew something about possibly Rapture, or at least some type of inkling as to the fact something might have been going on in that area. It was a no-go zone and they do mention the disappearance of Andrew Ryan. Once again I have to end this whole thing stating, this is only speculation and just a theory that I have pieced together using facts I have found and my own intuition about things. Not saying any of it could be entirely false or any of it can be entirely true, I mean hell, being in the game industry as a Tester, Gamer, and Seller, I know how, if the developer/publisher chooses, they can just change the whole entire game.

Like I said, I will keep all informed as I receive information, and I will keep revising my theory as well with said information. Until then, keep playing!

Some interesting Collector's Editions...

...such as the RE 5 CE coming with a 12" Batarang -.-'. Jeez, GameStop, why can't you let me do your some of your writing, seriously.

Someone messed up on the Arkham Asylum Collector's Edition and put "Resident Evil 5 Collector's edition contains:" However, the CE for Arkham Asylum (granted still pending) sounds pretty rad. It contains the aforementioned Batarang, a DC Encyclopedia (almost worth the CE with just that...I said almost) the first DLC pack, and a DVD with the typical Bonus DVD stuff (i.e. Making of, Behind the Scenes, etc.) and the soundtrack. Wait, it gets better, it's only 69.99. Like I said though pending, let's hope it comes to fruition since Eidos is now owned by Square Enix (yea quite the buy)

Oh then there's the DemiGod CE, which has the Soundtrack, a poster, and of course a little figure of the DemiGod protagonist for I think an additional $10. Not bad for an extra $10.

And to round it off, the City Of Heroes is very much alive, and to prove that they are going to be releasing a Architect Edition that allows those who have it to create their very own missions for the MMO. You start oohing and aahing now.

Of course, once again for like the umpteenth time, this is all pending, but all rad stuff, of course I will be keep tabs on it as much as I can. Until I hear anymore news though, keep playing!

More newspaper clippings...

...on SomethingInTheSea.com. One from a tabloid, one from the US Congress, and a punch of headlines ripped from other papers. It seems whatever is going on in BioShock 2 this is a precursor and it is going up the US coast, I think it plans on find itself going back to that middle x without a date on it. I think that's where the Rapture is located. No one believes him, until there will be a wide scale war on there hands. Perhaps my anxiety to see some dry land game play in BioShock will be more glorious then expected.

Update on the MultiNational United, District-9 stuff. Well nothing really, except there was some a new post on mnuspreadslies.com something about the MNU tracking the blog and that the blogger has to be careful. Losing my interest in that viral really.

In other news though, was your Xbox 360 acting strange when trying to log on to Xbox Live? Yea, if you don't already know, last night there was a hiccup in the system, well a few of the servers anyway. All fixed now, but if you are still having trouble trying to login because it is invalid, just recover the gamertag. I know it sounds stupid especially since it was on there the whole time, but there might have been something to cause it to be wiped from that specific server.

Just a tiny update, so keep playing!
